Feel free to reach out to me if you have any more questions!
This is your vacation too, we just happen to be celebrating my birthday. Feel free to invite whoever, your sister, brother, best friend, cousin. Anyone you think is fun is welcome to join. Think of it as an "Adult Spring Break." Virgin Voyages is adults only, so sailors must be 18 years or older.
I recommend booking via phone call directly to Virgin. Once you're booked, please send me your booking (confirmation) number so that I can link all our reservations together. Depending on the number of cabins we book, we will be eligible for discount drink package and special dining events.
I picked this trip specifically for it being a shorter itinerary, since I know many of you haven't set foot on a cruise before. The size of the ship will help reduce the amount of motion you feel, it wont be like most smaller boats you've been on. Generally, the center of the ship and lower decks have less motion so take that into consideration when booking. I think balcony cabins are the way to go since you can easily get fresh air and looking at the horizon may orient you, but many people might feel more comfortable in an inside cabin.
I get it! One of my biggest goals is to scuba dive but I haven't cracked my fear of deep open water. But to me, there is something insanely peaceful about looking out over the ocean on a day at sea. Plus with plenty of spots to relax on the ship, both inside and out, you can easily let any fear slip away.
Plenty! Relax on a lounge chair or your private balcony hammock. Cool off in the pool. Pamper yourself in the Spa. Themed parties (Scarlet Nights and PJ Party). Pop up entertainment throughout the trip. An acrobatic twist on the tale of Romeo and Juliet. Night club. Game shows and more!
Prices do fluctuate but as on end of May, 2024, an Insider cabin (no windows) is $1250 per person with a Sea Terrace (balcony) starting at $1450 per person. This assumes double occupancy and includes your lodging for 4 nights, all food, and shows & entertainment on board. Unlike other cruise lines, this also includes soft drinks, wifi, all tips, and group fitness classes. The big ticket items not included are airfare, transportation to/from the port, and alcohol purchased on board.
There are options for cheaper rooms, if you want to book a guaranteed room (where you don't pick room category or location) or if you want to book a limited view balcony to save some money.
Yes, but not really. On the embarkation day, my birthday, I will reserve a large group dinner for everyone at one of the restaurants. Besides that, this is your vacation too so enjoy it how you wish! I figure it will be less stressful for all to do your own thing, but I will keep you updated on what my plan is if you want to join!
